Actor and Filmmaker; Chioma Ezeh is inspired by the beauty and variation of the Black Experience [@Chiomacezeh]

Chioma Ezeh Premieres Short Film; Behind The Door with GUAP

Chioma Ezeh is an actor and filmmaker specialising in narratives that depict the Black Female experience and their untold stories. Credits include Dazed, The Bush Theatre, and Shakespeare’s Globe.

Creator’s Note: My name is Chioma and I’m an Actor, Filmmaker, and Digital Storyteller and Founder of Phases of Womanhood, a visual anthology for Black Womanhood. I’m inspired by human psychology, the beauty, and variation of the Black experience and our contributions. Depicting that through storytelling. Raising the funds for this film was definitely a massive challenge, fundraising is never easy but I’m proud that we persevered. One of the funniest things that happened was probably filming the running scene, by the third take I was ready to pass out! A big highlight would have to be getting to witness the film’s journey globally through the festivals and premieres, the process has inspired upcoming projects which include my upcoming short “Crown” and a visual documentary. To any upcoming filmmakers I’d say to take ownership of your narratives, the worlds you want to create, and never let naysayers dictate the value of your voice.

Film Synopsis:  A story of loss, struggle, and liberation. Jola who was trafficked from her home country of Nigeria when she was a child has spent the last decade being transported across different countries and cities. We begin to unravel the pieces of her individual story and her journey towards liberation.
