Best Responses On Twitter To Davido’s Roof Raising o2 Performance

#Davidoattheo2 has been trending on twitter over the weekend, give the the full article below a read to see exactly what people are saying and why the content has been so heartwarming.

“Mark this day, they go cancel that show”, Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer, Davido, remembers this tweet from a hater as he gets ready to go on stage, but with the o2 arena packed out at capacity, his reaction was simple “he’s probably going to come and watch it [laughs]”.

It’s not the first time the Nigerian superstar has filled a 20,000 capacity venue to the brim. And it’s not the first time the roof has been blown off (quite literally this time with record breaking winds actually blowing the roof off of the o2).

“Trusting GOD’s plan isn’t always easy. Doubt, fear and insecurities can fill our minds. But we have to remind ourselves that our GOD is an Awesome GOD. HE’s the only one who knows our future and HE’s in control.!!!!.”

Davido brought out a host of legends in music to the stage with the likes of Adekunle Gold, Ckay, Skiibi, Stonebwoy, Victony and Mayorkun. South African performer, Lethabo Sebasto, known more commonly as Focalistic, even thanked Davido for making his performance the first from a South African artist in the o2 Arena.

Twitter user [@DAMIADENUGA] showed us a peek into the pre-show preparations as Davido and his sister bowed their head in prayer. The camera holder then zooms in on Davido, showing off the diamond encrusted Dolce & Gabana fit.

Even those you wouldn’t quite expect were out in the crowds and having the night of their lives.

The fans were showing up and showing out! With the front row crying out lyric for lyric whilst looking absolutely unreal.

You had fans LITERALLY unable to contain their screams of Jubilation as Obo performed some of his classics…

Our favourite band the compozers were in the building on the night doing what they do best, amazing live Instrumentation and representing for the diaspora…

There were some crazy special guests including AG Baby (Adekunle Gold) and all the flashlights came out when they performed ‘High’…

Some weirdos tried to post pictures of one very small section of the crowd that had been closed off and say the show was not actually sold out but history has already been written…

And it says it all when you see the unconditional love Davido’s fans have for him…

As monumentous as the show was, it wasn’t without it’s flaws, with one concert goer describing it as a ‘beautiful chaos’ in a Twitter Space the next day where people gathered to review the show. Some people spoke of some sound issues that were mainly noticed on the live stream and the show running over by over 30 mins. These same people also described it as a hell of a night and loved every minute of it regardless.

So despite these minor woes, this performance was the definition of what a moment is. The support indicates the raw and genuine impact this signifies. The afrobeats genre is an undeniable force and the instigator of pivotal changes in the world of music. A force which is not, I repeat, not to be reckoned with.
