Clarks Orignals Team Up With BAPE To Rework Their Classic Wallabee And Desert Boot Styles
Clarks Originals and BAPE – two classic brands in their own rights – have come together to update Clarks established Desert Boot and Wallabee design with Raheem Sterling as the face of the collaboration.

The collaboration marks 70 years since the inception of the Clarks Originals desert boot silhouette which hasn’t been touched since the 1950s.

It just needed a revamp and and these days that means established brands teaming up with new age streetwear brands to modernise their designs, helping them appeal to a younger audience.

The new iteration of the Wallabee design features the signature A Bathing Ape camo print and manhunt motif on a suede vamp with a choice of a coral pink or light turquoise colour on the upper sole. Whilst the Wallabees sole has been given a distinctive shark tooth tread.

The updated desert boot comes in neutral, earthy tones – laser printed with different BAPE symbols on each shoe.

Born in Jamaica, England and Manchester City footballer Raheem Sterling is a fitting choice as the face of this collaboration.

His roots in Jamaica are relevant as the popularity of Clarks grew significantly in the country from the 1950s onwards, see Vybz Kartel – “Clarks”.

Sterling is also a long time fan of the Clarks Originals brand, regularly posting pictures on his Instagram of himself sporting both the Wallabees and Desert boots.
