London Rapper Hyphen releases highly anticipated debut single ‘Lost,’ taken from his EP ‘Dance Songs to Die To’.

In 2017 alone, he’s toured New York, London and Delhi and has also featured on international platforms such as Sofar Sounds, ILUVLIVE and Don’t Flop.

Without any official releases thus far, Hyphen has managed to accumulate over 50,000 views across digital platforms and has featured on the same sets as likes of Ed Sheeran and Bastille. Now under the wing of those who’ve worked with artists like George the Poet, D’Banj and Deanne Chase – 2017 is set to be an exciting and promising year for the London rapper.

His new single ‘Lost’ is released with iconic London visuals and is available to watch here.

He tells Guap –

“I First started writing 4 years ago. I wasn’t remotely involved in music but was working a job in finance which I absolutely hated.

I was incredibly hung over on a train, depressed, and I happened to have a note book on me. I started writing in it and felt like I had an epiphany of what I should be doing with my life.

The EP is called ‘Dance Songs To Die To‘ – The idea behind it is that I’m engaging with serious topics (‘conveyer belt living’, depression, bad relationships) in a way that on the surface of it sounds up beat and positive.

The song lost is about how having to work full time at a job where I’m working 12h days means saying no to things I’d ordinarily enjoy.

The hook ‘smoke, drink, what do you think?’ has the answer of both obviously yes (I want to go do those things) and obviously no (Music is the only thing that keeps me sane, and the only way I can find time to do that is by saying no to the other things)”
