CORD [@cordsocials]: The UK’s First Producer Roundtable Series

CORD is a fresh music discussion platform designed for and by the culture with the aim to tap into a variety of topics all based on music. Yesterday the platform released part 1 of their 2-part producer roundtable series, where the panel brought together some of the most celebrated names in the scene 169, Dr Vades and M1OnTheBeat to name a few. Who discuss in this episode the evolution of Drill and rap alongside their personal experiences within music. The UK’s first producer roundtable series gives the audience a glimpse of something they have never seen before. With insight given through the lens of producers, the audience have the opportunity to hear from those closest to these hits.

“We’ve been waiting for something like this, where people like ourselves are given a platform to speak about our stories” one of the producers stated.

Yesterday’s panel included M1OnTheBeat, who has produced for the likes of Drake and Headie One. Dr Vades’, who are staple’s within the UK scene after making old school rhythms such as Tribal Skank, to producing for one of the hottest artists in the scene, Blanco. Alongside, 169 & JB Made It, who produced the number 1 single, Funky Friday, and has also worked with the likes of Stormzy and M1llionz. Producer JB has also produced for the likes of Drake, Fivio Foreign, and Headie One.

Is it safe to say the panel has the credentials to back up their opinions when covering who they think the “King of Drill” is? Where Drill stemmed from? And whether they think Drill is here to stay? The rising popularity of this topic has sparked debate across a variety of social media outlets, and having been championed by the likes of GRM Daily, Mixtape Madness, and Link Up TV, CORD is a fresh music discussion platform that is designed for and by the culture – with the aim of tapping into a variety of conversations regarding the UK scene.

Look out for part 2 coming out on the 13th of December.
