It is 2022 and we are still living with Covid which is slowly moving into endemic status.

If you live in a city, the effects of the pandemic may have been heightened due to limited outdoor space and co-existing with a dense population of people in close proximity, that don’t seem to understand the concept of social distancing. If you haven’t been able to fly out this year, hopefully this editorial by YYAtomic can offer you some brief respite.

Inspired by metropolitan living and the stress it can bring, especially for men, designer behind the brand Ziwei Qu explores futurism and escapism for AW22 with Cloud Nine, presenting a strong individual aesthetic and perspective.

The collection features 12 looks where military flight jackets and suit silhouettes meet leather and denim biker elements. Accessories such as YYAtomic logo tennis shoes and boxing shoes, leg warmers, and metal motorcycle gloves add sportswear into the mix. Various hues of blue define the looks, anchored by black, cream and grey, occasionally accented with a dash of red.

The daring decision to combine these various styles creates a very interesting collection, if not one that is a little chaotic. The freedom of creativity evident in the collection is exciting and we can’t wait to see what is next from YYAtomic.
