EVENT: Glastonbury Will Celebrate Their 50th Anniversary This Year, Despite Covid:19 Setback [@Glastonbury]

This year, Glastonbury will take a look back at the festival’s most iconic performances

From David Bowe, Stormzy to Beyoncé, Glastonbury has been the backdrop to some of the most iconic moments in music history. The last weekend of June 2020 was going to be another moment in history where 200,000 festival-goers would celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary festival. With the event now canceled due to the Covid:19 pandemic, the BBC has announced broadcast plans to celebrate the British festival from the 25th – 29th of June.

Over 60 performances from some of the biggest artists to play the festival, including Beyoncé and David Bowie’s iconic headline slots in 2000 and 2011 will be available to watch. BBC iPlayer will also host a “pop-up” Glastonbury Channel which will playback the historic sets, as well as on-demand streaming performances from artists like Billie Eilish and Lana Del Ray. The coverage will run from the 25th – 29th June when the festival was originally going to take place. All is not lost this summer and make sure you tune in and re-live music history with Glastonbury this June.
