First Listen & Review of Nadia Rose’s [@NadiaRoseMusic] New EP ‘Highly Flammable’

Last year was a great year for Croydon based rapper Nadia Rose. The 23-year old went from strength to strength, after releasing a stream of incredibly quirky and catchy songs online, Nadia’s career and fan base has sky-rocketed, with one of her most successful tracks ‘SKWOD’ nearing the 2 million views mark and winning a Mobo Award for best video.

With Nadia being tipped as one to watch by BBC, Mobos and GUAP, 2017 was always destined to be another epic year. She’s kicked off the new year with her highly anticipated EP ‘Highly Flammable’, a 9 track tape featuring Red Rat, Alika, Thai’Chi Rose, Kideko, Sweetie Irie & George Kwali. With production from local talents such as Prynce Mini and AT Bamz this EP is hard-hitting, witty and masterful.

Track 1, the intro, for which a short and sweet visual was shared by Nadia via social media this week. She sets the tone by opening up on the passing of her grandmother and how she’s dealing with the loss. The tape also features some familiar hits such as ‘Skwod’, ‘Crank It’ and ‘Tight Up’ a song which was teased leading up to the release of the project. My personal favorite is ‘2H2H’, from the drop on the beat to the funny and clever punchlines, this is definitely one the songs I’ve pulled up the most.

Overall a solid debut project for Nadia Rose, to be honest I wish it was longer. Listen to ‘Highly Flammable’ via Apple Music here and let us know your thoughts.
