Five For Friday ft. [@Vibbar001], [@donaeo], [@TE_dness] + more

Five For Friday is back again with 5 releases from the past week you should pay attention to.

Five For Friday is back again giving you 5 great tracks/projects for your Friday. Friday is essentially the most important day of the week musically, and typically a lot of music drops on Friday’s. Friday is the day that the official charts are announced, which lets us know who holds the coveted number one position. We’ve had another very busy week of great music so to make life a little easier this Friday we are giving you 5 of our top picks that have recently dropped to start off your weekend listening.

Vibbar – Come My Way

Vibbar are back with one for the summer with “Come My Way” alongside Louis Rei. Vibbar really do live up to their name which is the Swedish word for “vibe”, and unsurprisingly they bring the vibes in everything they do. “Come My Way” is exactly that with each artist gracefully floating across the mellow production with slick but fun verses displaying their individual personalities whilst maintaining the feeling of it being a team effort. Vibbar may not drop as frequently as people would like, but when they do they don’t disappoint.

TE dness – HB Freestyle

Following on from dropping “Ashore” TE is back again with more fire for the people. Before we get to the freestyle itself big shout out to the producer sampling William Bell‘s “I Forgot To Be Your Lover” which has also been used by Ludacris amongst others previously. Production aside TE delivers as should be expected giving you something to think about without it ever feeling forced or like he’s trying to be overly complex. Across it we get everything from personal insight, crypto talk, trap talk, women and all of it delivered as if effortless with some occasional cheekiness to provide some levity. You can’t sleep on this one, you’d only be doing yourself a disservice.

Donae’o – Mufasa

Donae’o has always been a man with his finger on the pulse. He’s equally been able to make music for the times that you can’t help but want to dance to and “Mufasa” is just the latest in a string of hits from Donae’o to hit that mark. Amapiano is here to stay, it’s on the world stage but it’s still in the process of fully embedding itself in cultures outside of South Africa where the sound originates. But with artists like Donae’o who are really in tune with the authentic sound serving as conduits for it, it is sure to continue growing organically and without getting lost in other genres.

Loski – P.U.G

Loski is well and truly back, dropping his first single of the year “P.U.G” and reannouncing himself to anyone doubting his place in Drill. The past year or so hasn’t been the easiest for the Harlem Spartans camp but Loski coming out on the other side of his legal situation and outside is a win for the culture just as much as it is for himself and the group. He’s back and firing with raw, hard hitting Drill that fans are sure to resonate with. It’s good to see him not compromising his sound but also having fun with it. The video is simple but clean and even has a cameo from everyone’s favourite viral pastor.

IAMDDB – Silver Lines

IAMDDB brings a real vibe with “Silver Lines”. It is an anthem for sisterhood and women’s empowerment just as much as it is a seductive feel good track that comes under her brand of ‘Urban Jazz’. As soon as you hear the instrumental come in on this one you know that it’s going to be a special record. There’s just something about it that’s intangible and difficult to put into words but it’s just one of those songs that, using layman’s terms, we’d say is laced with crack. You will listen to this over and over again and you will struggle to get bored of it. It is a fitting reminder of what makes IAMDDB such as special talent.
