Ghana Party In The Park festival returns this weekend

This Saturday Ghana Party In The Park makes its return to London! Running since 2005 this is the biggest Ghanaian festival in the Diaspora. With native blockbuster rapper Sarkodie pulling the creative strings this year, the stage is set for a cultural explosion. Hosted by Akwaaba in Trent Park, London, the party will force the capital to come alive this Saturday.

Supported by the Ghana High Commission UK and Ireland, the festival attracts over 8000 attendees annually and is the biggest Ghanaian event outside of Ghana, enticing visitors from across the globe. As well as food and Art Exhibits there is a large music presence with previous performers including Mr Eazi, Fuse ODG, Maleek Berry, Chip, Kojo Funds, WRETCH 32, Tion Wayne and Sarkodie.

This year carrying out Sarkodie’s vision, the event is accompanied by rappers Yaw Tog, Kofi Jamar, Amerado, and D-Black; highlife crooner Kwabena Kwabena, Afropop artists S3fa, Camidoh, Gyakie, and Mr. Drew. Alongside fashion shows, cultural dancers and traditional Ghanaian food, it has grown since previous years and is “back with a bang”. 

Chief Executive Officer Akwaaba UK, Dennis Tawiah gave the assurance that is a properly planned event with all the needed security and health requirements in place, especially in such a difficult time due to the pandemic.

He further stated that “this year, we are coming back with a bang and want to focus on a festival feel as the theme with more add-ons. Ghana Party in the Park is an opportunity to showcase Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and other traditional attributes as well as creating the enabling environment for all attendees to interact, network have fun”.

He added that “annually we have thousands of patrons from across the globe attending the event and we continue to deliver year after year but this edition we are going to give patrons another memorable and unforgettable experience.”

Whether its jamming to D-Black or witnessing the colourful attires of the Dubar of Chiefs Display. Ghana’s party in the park is the perfect arrangement of Ghanaian heritage, desirable to all audiences!
