Guap Playlist 002

Guap Playlist 002

Another week, another playlist.

Kicking off our playlist is soulful- jazz singer, Ella Frank with new track ‘Blue Jay’. Describing her sound as “Whatever you want it to be”, Ella is influenced by many different sounds from R&B, Soul, Funk and more which is clear to hear in Blue Jay. The song is also produced by Intalekt and RKay. Ella is not one to sleep on this year.

Cat Burns aka Catrina Burns, a name that sounds as distinctive as her music shares her latest song ‘Still in Love’. Hailing from South London and at only 16 years old is receiving a lot of love online. ‘Still in love’ talks about her personal experiences in love, teamed with lyrics such as ‘After all this time, I’m still in love with you’. This track has definitely got us all in our feelings.

Girlhood, delivers TLC/90’s R&B vibes on new tune, ‘Say It’, which was premiered on Beats 1 with Julie Adenuga. Surprisingly the duo is not made up of two females, but a boy and girl duo, Christian Pinchbeck and Tessa Cavanna from London.  What is the meaning behind say it? Well, the duo define the track to as ‘An anthem for all of us to break free and celebrate the wonder of human’s hearts and minds’. Following the release of their debut single ‘My Boy’, Say It does not fall short.

‘Realign’ which according to the oxford dictionary means change or restore to a different form or state, is the sultry melodic track by singer-songwriter Nefera. Already receiving spins on BBC1 Xtra by Jamz Supernova, ‘Realign’ produced by Alex E, is an ode to emotional relationships and can relate to us all.

HANA– ‘So long’, is the perfect addition to the 002 playlist. You may recognise her from ‘Hood Documentary’ but her music is setting the tones for R&B in the UK. A singer from South London, ‘So Long’ is an easy listen. Her angelic vocals and a nice smooth beat, make this the ideal recipe for a song.

Fredwave has been hailed as ‘Britain’s next great talents’ by Noisey and we cannot disagree since the release of new track ‘Pray’ With a unique and distinctive voice, Fredwave provides the perfect summers day song to catch a vibe to and not to mention he teamed up with singer Sipprell on the vocals. We can’t think of a particular genre ‘Pray’ fits into, but that’s what makes it a vibe.

Bounce, beats and bass, Wize the producer, is undoubtedly one of the best British  producers on Soundcloud and as a whole. When he is not producing he is jumping on the mic or behind the decks, he is a somewhat an all rounder. ‘Freedom’, taken off his Clarity EP, is jam packed with the electronic/ future beats sounds that we love and admire about Wize.

‘Does my chain look clean, or are they saying its weak or are they saying its peak, didn’t feel the same this week’, Oscar Worldpeace opens ‘Clean’ as smooth as ever. Mini Kingz, a collective formed by EPXCS and Ragz Originale bring together, Oscar Worldpeace, Ragz Originale (himself) 808 Charmer from 808 ink and Knucks to release Clean. A song that we can only describe as ‘Wavy’ makes us think will we see more work featuring the four?

Tom Jones, Classic man, Gangster, Taliban. Who knew that these words together would make the dancehall inspired chorus to Lancey Foux’s new summer anthem ‘Left Home’. Produced by Nova whose recent credits include 6LACK- PRBLMS, the two have created a song that shows us a different side to Lancey. Following on from ‘Wild Goat’, Left Home is an upbeat, rhythmic track, which has already seen an impressive 20k plus plays on Soundcloud. This is a good ‘1ne’ this one.

Last on ‘002’ is Jay Prince – Peace of Mind Ft Avelino. We have seen a wave of British artist’s cross the ponds to America and put Britain on the map worldwide. Well, Jay Prince is one of those artists, just a few months after releasing Smile Good, Peace of Mind comes as a jolly, alternative, zealous percussion. Avelino spits over the beat wrapping up the song into an immaculate gift for the fans.
