Music Managers Forum Unite [@MMFUK] Announces New Series Of Talks All About Putting Black Managers First

‘Black Women Mean Business’ is the first talk in the MMF Unite series all about centring Black women’s experiences in the music industry

On 9th March 2021 at 1800 GMT, MMF Unite, the world’s largest professional community of music managers in partnership with The Zoo XYZ will jointly host a discussion exploring the experiences of Black Women within the music industry. Centred through the lens of an all-Black female panel, the ‘Black Women Mean Business’ discussion highlights the significant impact made by Black Women during a month celebrating the contributions made by women throughout history.

It has already been announced that Whitney Asomani the co-founder of Twenty:Two Marketing and Creative Agency will be the host and moderator for MMF Unite. Whitney is an all-rounder and an independent powerhouse within the music, “I’m happy to be involved in this year’s series of talks and looking forward to chatting with some brilliant minds across the business and unpacking topics that may lead to the discovery of new practises and understanding of our industry and the way we work. For this series, we are reaching out to people who can provide interesting perspectives, alternative methodologies and challenge the status quo.”

The panel of experts includes; Shikayla Nadine of SNM ManagementShauni Caballero – The Go 2 Agency and Nike Durosaro of Big Drum Entertainment

The panellists will take you on a journey where they discuss misogynoir (where racism and sexism mutate) and how they navigate the music industry. Ultimately, they will share their knowledge and experience that has led to career development and legacy building.
