School Ground Sounds – EP Accelerator

What’s it all about

The EP Accelerator Project is an opportunity for 3 early-career artists to be supported to write, record, and release an EP over 6 months.

What does EP Accelerator offer?
– Music Industry mentors and advice
– Professional studio time, access to hot-desking space and space to write and rehearse
– Financial backing

You can apply to EP Accelerator if you are:

– Aged 18-25 year
– A South London based artist/bands/producer
– Early career, independent (unsigned) artist
– Have clear ambitions for a career in music
– Identify as experiencing barriers into music
– Making music in any genre

Make sure you give yourself enough time to read and prepare your application. It’s always best to spend one day getting all your ideas out on paper, then rest and revisit your application.

Be detailed and try to give as much information about yourself as you can. However, be very specific about answering the question and ensure everything you include in your responses is directly relevant.

Represent yourself in the best way – when sending music make sure it’s of high quality!

The Qube – Qube Futures

What’s it all about

Qube Futures is a unique opportunity for 18 to 25-year-olds with an ambition to take their
careers to the next stage. Over four weeks the 8 participants will develop an understanding of
modern-day life in the music industry and will be able to establish a productive network of
like-minded creatives.

Since financial and social factors can prevent many individuals from following their careers in music, our goal is to provide an experience for young creatives to establish the confidence and skills they need to excel in the commercial music industry.
The programme will include masterclasses, workshops and panels from leading professionals in the industry, as well as one to one mentoring sessions etc.
The Qube will offer 6 months Qube membership with access to the various studios, mixing and
mastering resources and more.

Don’t be put off by your experience so far – Qube Futures is all about the journey, so we’re looking for people that have the potential to grow and will use the opportunity to the fullest.

Demonstrate your ambition – if you can show your ability to aim high, Qube Futures will put you in good stead to fulfill your goals in the
world of music.

Flourish in Diversity: Fashion Training

What’s it all about

Flourish In Diversity CIC are launching a part-time 𝙨𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 Fashion training programme that aims to 𝙪𝙥𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨 from minority ethnic and low socio-economic backgrounds.

Taking place in August 2022, the programme collaborates with brands to take students through the fashion product cycle. Focusing exclusively on 𝙨𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 and 𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚, future technologies and fairer solutions.

On completion of the programme, candidates will have the opportunity to apply for a 𝟯 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 with brand partners.

Saffron Music: Music Tech Kits

What is it?

Launching in tandem with the first-ever Saffron ‘Zine, Saffron’s latest project will provide 40 Black women, non-binary and trans people in the UK with free Music Tech Kits, to help remove financial barriers to music production and creation.

WHO CAN APPLY?

To be eligible to apply for one of the 40 Music Tech Kits you must be:

  • A woman, non-binary person, trans (man or woman), or gender non-conforming
  • Black or of Black heritage, including mixed Black*
  • Aged 18+ (there is no maximum age limit)
  • Currently living in the UK

EVENTS

The Elephant Room brings to you their First One Month Mentors LIVE event. Alongside their partners Clarks, they will be supporting talent with a bespoke programme to help build meaningful and suitable relationships.

This live event will be an opportunity for young women and non-binary individuals to feel empowered and equipped to reach their goals.

Hosted by Monikah Lee, the day will be filled with inspiring panel talks, empowering workshops featuring some of the most exciting and innovative voices in the creative industry.

Produced with the goal to empower young Black girls and marginalised genders, the first edition of the Saffron ‘Zine shines a light on six Black industry professionals – Xana, TAAHLIAH, Leslie Gaston-Bird, Josette Joseph, Geaola Adeyemi aka Princess Trium, and Zakia Sewell – documenting their perspectives, insights, and eclectic careers as DJs, producers, artists and sound engineers.
