PREMIERE: Kiddus – Slow [@kiddus_]

Kiddus brings his unique dreamlike sound to new track ‘Slow’.

‘Slow’ is Kiddus solo effort on the 4th edition of the Giles Peterson backed Future Bubblers compilation project. The project aims to discover and develop unsigned talent making music that is more left field. There have been several talented artists featured with some of the artists that have made the biggest waves being Shunaji, Skinny Pelembe and Yazmin Lacey. As such Kiddus is in good company and rightly so.

Now Kiddus is probably not someone who’s name you recognise instantly but his distinct musical approach should leave a mark not to be forgotten. He has an extremely eclectic range of influences and that is probably a lot down to his extremely diverse heritage. He is of Caribbean, Indian, Filipino, and Welsh heritage and was also raised Rastafarian. All of that culture has clearly rubbed off and created a sonic melting pot that can’t really be defined properly, not that it really needs to. On ‘Slow’ that is on full show. The record mixes mellow vocals across ethereal production that lulls you into its relaxing embrace and seems to draw from Pop, Dancehall and a few other genres.

Everything comes together just right and creates a track that isn’t to be slept on
