Rachel Chinouriri Summons Sunny Days with New Single “All I Ever Asked”

South London artist Rachel Chinouriri has shared her new single ‘All I Ever Asked’ via Atlas Artists Recordings/Parlophone. Recorded in full with a Super 8 style video shot in LA, ‘All I Ever Asked’ is a wistful meditation on knowing your worth and learning the vital importance of maintaining boundaries.

At 17-years old she had written and recorded her debut EP which dropped via soundcloud titled Bedroom Tales. Continuing on her tracks of self-governed authenticity the South Londoner directed her own music video for ‘So My Darling’ (released later in that same year). The song is loaded with voice notes from her friends opening up about their own experiences of love and loss; a frequent theme found in her songwriting.

There is something intoxicating about her lyricism that leaves you feeling vulnerable yet seeking more. To be able to express such sincere emotion acoustically shows an unrelenting wholeheartedness which is evident in the 22-year-old.

About the track, Rachel adds: ‘All I Ever Asked’ was inspired by a breakup my friend was going through and it made me reflect on a similar situation I was going through too. The feeling of asking someone you love to respect you in the simplest form and realising it’s the bare minimum. It’s also about realising your own worth and not settling for someone who cannot be what you need.”
