Standout Scenes and Styles from Euphoria Season 2

Standout Scenes and Styles from Euphoria Season 2

By Memuna Konteh

*spoilers ahead*

The final episode of Euphoria’s latest season aired last week, bringing the show to a stunning climax that left us, once again, wanting more. In true Euphoria style, our favourite wayward teenagers were serving drama and design all season long, prompting fans at home to step our fashion up with the #Euphoriahigh trend on social media.

If you’re not quite ready to let go of Rue and the crew or the jaw-dropping Euphoria High aesthetic, reminisce with us (and find some inspiration) as we break down our favourite scenes and outfits from the past season.

Episode 1: A Mad, Mad(dy) New Years

The Euphoria writers wasted no time and flung us straight into the mess. This season we saw Rue’s heart stop after using heroin, Cassie’s heart skipped a beat because she was fucking her best friends’ ex-man, and Lexi made heart-eyes at Fez seconds before he beat the shit out of Nate.

Stealing the show from all that chaos was our queen, Maddy. Too glam to give a damn as per, she skulked through that New Year’s Eve party like the main character she is, ignoring everyone’s nonsense because she looked too hot- and we were here for it!

The sultry cat-woman-esque cut-out Little Black Dress she wore is one of the most viral looks from the entire show so far, inspiring dupes from MissguidedNA-KD fashion and more.

Episode 2: Fez’s angels

It’s no mystery why Fezco continues to be a fan favourite after this season. Our drug dealing anti-hero is one of few Euphoria characters with the backbone and determination to match his drip. He keeps his cool in the tensest situations (like when Nate’s dad pulls up to his store with a gun and a manic glint in his eye), so it’s only fair that he has the wardrobe to match.

Not only does this Dolce & Gabbana polo elevate Fez’s dapper-dealer aesthetic, but it also encapsulates his angelic spirit and creativity, proving there’s a print for everyone.

You can find more Renaissance-inspired menswear on YooxASOS and more.

Episode 2: Kat in complementary colours

Kat has graduated from last season’s dominatrix dresses to a more muted but equally sexy grunge, pin-up style that’s so vibrant on the outside it distracts from the void she’s clearly feeling within.

In season 2 Kat wants it all; a sex life and social life that’s as bold as her outfit choices. However, she seems unable to communicate that with her voice. Instead, she chooses to gaslight her too-meek boyfriend into breaking up with her and channels all her dissatisfaction into some fire ‘fits, our fave of which is this red and green ensemble from the second episode.

If you’re looking to recreate Kat’s vibe, you should rummage through some second-hand charity shops or try retailers like Urban Outfitters.

Episode 3: Bathroom breaks

By episode three, the cracks in Maddy, Kat and Cassie’s relationship began to show in more ways than one. Yet again, Euphoria’s stylists and videographers came through in this iconic bathroom moment, where Cassie almost loses her shit, tempted to reveal to Maddy that she’s been sleeping with Nate behind her back. What she doesn’t say with words she says with clothes, having clearly already divorced from the friendship and their casually coordinated ways to become the booby Barbie doll of Nate Jacob’s dreams.

Check out this French Connection dress, perfect for a classy spin on Cassie’s milkmaid dress.

Episode 3: His beautiful, dark, twisted fantasy

Jules has one of the most eclectic yet niche wardrobes of all the Euphoria characters; it’s no wonder everyone keeps falling in love with her.

No one does sexed-up angst quite like Jules, and there’s no outfit more suited to her slightly kawaii, ever-so-trendy style (think Gunslinger girl, with an edge) than this knee-length lace-up boot paired with a sheer patterned top and black pinafore skirt. Her treatment of Rue may have been disappointing, but this look is just *chef’s kiss*.

Episodes 3 & 4: A lady of leisure

Of course, we’re back to Maddy, who was slaying in every scene, with leisure-wear that’s just as killer as her going-out looks.

We got a closer look at Maddy’s home and work life this season. There was something so juicy about the shots of her swanning around the mansion where she babysits. Ever the aspirational dresser, Maddy was giving delicious, Desperate Housewives chic in this satin, mint slip and its matching diamante robe. It’s safe to say that Nate Jacobs lost a real one.

If, like Maddy, you’re looking to make your ex mad in luxury lingerie (on a budget), then look no further than these Boux Avenue and Savage X Fenty collections.

Episode 4: Pink to make your best mate’s boy wink

Perhaps the only look to cause more of an online uproar than Maddy’s LBD was when Cassie strutted downstairs (to the birthday party she threw for her best friend) in her baby pink, keyhole swimsuit.

Everything about the piece is peak peacocking, and she might’ve gotten away with it had she not put on a side-chick sideshow by freaking out and throwing up in the hot tub.

Unfortunately, the original Gemma wrap one-piece from Frankie’s Bikinis has sold out since the episode aired, but if you think you could wear it better (or at least keep it cleaner), then check out these dupes from South Beach and Pink Boutique.

Episode 6: A Rue who stands for nothing will fall for anything

Watching Rue’s fall from grace has been one of the most intense and stressful things about this season of Euphoria. The addict we’ve all grown to love became less loveable with each new episode and each new poor decision.

When she picked that suitcase of drugs up from Laurie, we knew it was only a matter of time before she came crashing down hard. We didn’t anticipate that recovery Rue, in the aftermath of violent withdrawals, would be commemorating civil rights icon Malcolm X with this staggering statement T.

With Malcolm so close to her chest, we can only hope that future Rue can channel the strength and determination of the Black Panthers and stay away from the drugs. In the meantime, though, you too can pay homage with this copycat T-shirt from Etsy.

Episode 7: The dynamic duo

Cassie was well and truly kicked out of the trendy trio that was once her, Maddy and Kat, by the penultimate episode.

Free of the dead weight, Kat and Maddy could now fully embody the boss bitch energy that put them at the top of Euphoria High’s fashion food chain. True to their styles, Maddy sports monochrome once more with this structured white shirt and black hyper-mini skirt while Kat catches our eyes in a printed, bodycon midi.

The coordination is still there, just more subtly, as Kat’s black Telfie nods to Maddy’s look while Maddy carries a snake side bag that mirrors her mate’s crackly manicure.

Episode 8: Coming out of her shell

Last but certainly not least is Euphoria’s very own thespian, Lexie. We saw more of Lexie this season than ever before, which means we also saw her transformation from a shy and retiring background character to the demanding director who only marches to the beat of her own drum.

We also saw her romance with Fez blossom, giving her cause to reclaim her feminine energy and redefine her look, which, in this scene from episode 8, is every bit the renegade (but romantic) creative that she is.

Luckily for Lexie, crochet and layering are both very in this season, so she didn’t have to put too much effort into the outfit, and neither will you if you shop at Hollister, Emiol, or pretty much any youthful womenswear retailer.
