Naya Rivera Died A Hero, Selflessly Saving The Life Of Her Only Son
Naya Rivera was best known for her break-out role as Santana Lopez, in the hit tv-show Glee. On Wednesday 8th July 2020, it was reported that Naya Rivera went missing after boating with her four-year-old son at Lake Piru. After he was found sleeping alone on the boat, an immediate search and rescue operation began. Rivera’s son told police they had gone swimming but she never returned and that he had seen his Mother “disappear beneath the water”.
During a press conference, Sheriff Bill Ayub said “We know from speaking with her son that he and Naya swam in the lake together at some point during their journey,” He continued “It was during that time that her son described being helped into the boat by Naya – who boosted him onto the deck from behind”. Lake Piru is known to have dangerous undercurrents, with whirlpools that have taken the lives of people before. Sheriff Bill Ayub added in his press conference that Naya “mustered enough energy to get her son back on the boat, but not enough to save herself.”
On Tuesday 13th July 2020, it was confirmed that Naya’s body was found. Friends, fans, and the co-stars from Glee have taken to social media to honour the late Mother. Naya Rivera will be remembered for her amazing talent, her care, and appreciation towards her fans and her selfless and undying love for her only son.
