Watch: Iman [@imanmusicuk] releases stunning visual for ‘Naive’

Iman’s brand-new single “Naïve” arrived in early March and the video is available to stream publicly from March 17th.

Speaking on the video, Iman says: ”This was my first attempt at properly co-directing and co-editing anything. I wasn’t really after any storyline; I wanted it to be very simple and focus on capturing the movement of the song.

“Seeing as my previous video for “Golden” hardly showed my face, I felt like for this one I’d show myself, and I’m really happy with how it came out. Moving forward, I’m definitely going to be directing more of my videos. As an artist, the creative part doesn’t have to stop at just making the song, and being involved with bringing “Naïve” to life through film is something I found pretty rewarding.”

“Naïve” is a dreamy song with powerful, emotive vocals. Fusing acoustic and electronic elements that build throughout, the track is written by Iman and features impeccable production by Robert Rosiji (Sony, Epic US). “Naïve” is about following your voice regardless of the naysayers and arrives following debut release “Golden” at the end of 2015. Her debut saw her garner great online media attention and she is on course to repeat the feat with “Naïve” if initial reviews are any indication.
Iman, who is British born of Middle Eastern and African descent, has written with Ed Sheeran, written and toured with Rudimental, collaborated with drum & bass hitmaker Wilkinson and was asked to do some writing on a Kanye West project he had set up in London, where she collaborated with Kanye’s producer Mike Dean (College Dropout, Late Registration).
Co-directing and co-editing her own music videos and penning her own lyrics, she is an artist with a strong identity and a clear vision for her music. Her musical influences include Annie Lennox, Lauryn Hill, Jessie Ware, Disclosure, Kendrick Lamar and Tracey Chapman to name a few. Iman plans to self-release new material throughout 2016.
