After a widely acclaimed return with incredible new single ‘Forever You’, South London’s Raheem Bakaré today announces the release of its official video. Watch here.
The video premiered recently via Afropunk.

Shot in London and Amsterdam, the video sees the soulful R&B vocalist’s effortless falsetto, experimental sound and acutely honest lyricism paired with an equally striking visual.

Written by Bakaré himself alongside Javal Stewart, and produced by MJ Nichols (Earl Sweatshirt, Bobby Shmurda, A$AP Ant, Gunplay), the track provides an homage to the golden days of classic R&B, splicing it with futuristic bass and modern synths that propel it into fresh, innovative territory. The video manages to encapsulate this melding of R&B eras with a love interest, a magical timepiece and an unexpected twist.

Whether experiencing the raw, unforgiving side of life as a homeless beggar or blissed out in a sweeping love affair, Raheem’s sparkling humour, integrity and innate style shine through in a clip that’s not to be missed.
Speaking to Afropunk “The Forever You video is a short that follows the narrative of a broken man’s chance of fate. Dwelling the streets a homeless man takes a turn as he encounters a pocket watch that allows him the ability to loop time. The watch brings him closer to the female that dropped it. Their endearing moments are short lived as she soon finds him distrustful and uses the same watch to send him back to the beginning.
Raheem’s musical CV has flourished since the release of his critically acclaimed debut ‘AWOL EP’, which included the stunning ‘Purple Sky’ remix with hotly tipped rising star Tanika. He has picked up support from the likes of Twin B, DJ Target, MistaJam, CJ Beatz and Sian Anderson at BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Rinse FM and BANG Radio to name but a few. This comes alongside performances at Reading & Leeds, the influential Soul Acoustic tour, BET Music Matters in New York, and support slots with the legendary D’Angelo, Musiq Soulchild and Bilal.
