WELCOME TO TOTTENHAM LIVE PROJECT EXHIBITION & DOCUMENTARY SCREENING 27.09.17

The project marks a new glance at the area of Tottenham and North London. Located within the London borough of Haringey, Tottenham has been perceived as a notorious area and has been tainted due to its controversial past. The investment into the area due to the new Tottenham Hotspurs stadium has residents concerned that gentrification will dilute the cultural identity of Tottenham.
The project was created to showcase Tottenham through the eyes of creatives and paint a picture of Tottenham (quite literally) that reflects the character and aura of this cultural hub.

Kelliesha White, Guap’s Arts & Culture Editor created a social media campaign calling for artists & photographers from all over London to submit work to take part in the project. Fifteen creatives from all over London were chosen and they were tasked with creating a piece of Visual art inspired by the area of Tottenham. All fifteen creatives will have their work exhibited on the 27th of September at the new music venue Five Miles in South Tottenham. On the night a selection of judges & the management from Five Miles will also choose some of the pieces that they want permanently put up at Five Miles.

Guap Magazine will be screening a documentary that follows the project and explores the current climate of Tottenham as it goes through gentrification.

A great Networking event that will bring creatives from all over London together to connect through Art.
