Nottingham’s answer to Post Malone, Hex, drops some dark but fun visuals for new track ‘Gene Kelly’.
Having broken onto the scene with his release Limitless he now has his first release on Parlophone. If you haven’t heard of Hex just yet, don’t despair he’s still relatively new to the scene. But if his latest offering is anything to go by he’s someone about to do great things.
In this climate where fusion of music styles is becoming more and more prominent Hex manages to remain unique. In Gene Kelly there’s almost afro-swing vibes akin to the likes of a Yxng Bane, Kojo Funds or Not3s. But there are also other influential undertones at play, for example the Spanish guitar motif. There’s a clear charisma and likability factor that comes through in both how he carries himself as well as in his lyrics. This factor, the playfulness and overall positive vibes from his track seem to bode well for the future. Hex is definitely going to be one to watch out for.
