Meet 21-year-old Ladí Williams. The youngster from Kent has just dropped a new track, ‘Energy’, and it is very, very dope. Sampling Mtume‘s ‘Juicy Fruit‘, Ladí blends the infamous beat with his soulful vocals, to create a track that you definitely need to hear. Whist the song is a vibe, there’s also a deeper meaning behind the song. Ladí explores how energy is connected, and how important it is enlighten yourself, and not let a stubborn mindset hold you back.

Taking inspiration from the older generation in music, including Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder and Nas, Ladí has created a new track with a cool, old school vibe. Ladí used to write bars and was interested in Grime when he was younger, but only began singing seriously aged 18. Aiming to revolutionise popular music by merging music genres such as Funk, Jazz and R’n’B, Ladí Williams is a name that we’ll be hearing a lot more of in the future.
