The Birmingham duo of Capstone Heights and Anderson 100 have come together on New Moon EP and further assert Birmingham as an innovator in Drill.
The New Moon EP is probably the first introduction for most people to Capstone Heights and Anderson 100. The duo are from Birmingham, home of plenty of stars including Drill’s newest top tier resident M1llionz. Much like M1llionz this duo let’s the Brum side of them shine through loud and proud and it is one of the things that really helps them stand out amongst the crowd. Long gone are the days that only London accents are accepted so it’s only right we are seeing more and more talents emerging from places like Birmingham.
Capstone and Anderson have released New Moon EP on the cities most exciting indie label Dudley Road Records created by non-other than Brum legend Daniel Sturridge. The five-track collaborative project, combines innovative melodies and flows but stay authentic to what Drill is. Together the duo encapsulates the influences and culture of their hometown Birmingham. New Moon EP has a unique sound combining heavy beats, with Anderson’s recognizable skippy rap flow, and soulful, creative lyricism from Capstone.
It is a big look for talent on the rise and if they keep up this trajectory they will be names we come to know very well. Anderson in particular has already been hotly tipped by one of the best talent spotters in the country Kenny Allstar. With recognition from a name like that all we can do is wait to see if they deliver to their full potential.
