Menswear designer Bianca Saunders Releases SS20 Collection

Menswear designer pushing gender constraints Bianca Saunders has released her SS20 collection featuring her family to highlight key pieces of the collection. The collection features sandy tones reminding us of her Jamaican roots as well ax incorporating elements of the ’90s and workwear style also inspired by her life in London. Saunders also includes additional elements of womenswear adding ruffles, cropped fit, cuts and slits whilst still maintaining the masculine silhouettes that highlight the angles and shapes that are traditionally found attractive and celebrated on men. Saunders is known for bringing menswear out of its traditional form whilst still taking into consideration what men would actually wear and feel comfortable in.

Studying fashion at the Royal College of Art Saunders took the opportunity to investigate the wardrobes of the men she knows, after this Saunders decided to switch her focus to menswear, exploring movement as an important element of her designs often creating the base of her collections on this. The brand’s unique way of exploring menswear whilst also exploring Saunders black Jamaican and black British roots have gotten her named in both Dazed 100 list and Forbes 30 under 30 2020 list and this is only the beginning for the young ambitious designer.
